Jim Dow

Born in Edinburgh, Jim Dow (1938-2010) was a talented and dedicated journalist who loved his profession. Having spent a period of time living in Africa, he became a fluent speaker of Swahili and had the remarkable talent of being able to translate the speeches of top politicians and convert the words into shorthand. The author of two titles, Dow was honoured with a lifetime membership to the National Union of Journalists for his work in the profession.
