Neil Munro

Neil Munro (1863-1930) was born the illegitimate son of an Inveraray kitchen-maid. After leaving school, he worked for a time in a lawyer's office, before leaving the Highlands for a career in journalism, eventually editing the Glasgow Evening News. However, it was his work as a poet and novelist that established Munro as one of Scotland's finest writers.
